PSEO (Post Secondary Enrollment Option)

PSEO students are allowed to checkout all required textbooks and most course materials for enrolled classes at no charge to the student.*  Prior to picking-up materials at the Bookstore it is the students' responsibility to confirm their PSEO eligibility and complete the Bookstore agreement form found at the top of this page.

*The Bookstore does charge a fee for late, damaged, and non-returned textbooks up to full replacement cost.  Please see below for fee details.


 

BOOKSTORE TERMS

All PSEO students are subject to these terms when checking out materials from the Century College Bookstore.

 

  • All textbooks and materials are the property of the Century College Bookstore and are required to be returned on or before the due date each term.
  • Books and Materials from Dropped, Switched, or Cancelled classes must be returned or exchanged immediately.
  • Excessively worn or water damaged books will not be accepted and the student will be required to pay for the replacement cost of the textbook. In some cases an exact match textbook will be accepted in replacement of the original textbook (must be approved by the bookstore).**
  • Returns made within 1 week of the end of term will be accepted, however the student will be charged a restocking fee. In some cases special arrangements can be made, however the student must make arrangements with the bookstore prior to the due date (please use the Late Return Request form found above).
  • Returns will not be accepted more than 1 week after the due date and students will be required to pay full replacement cost for their textbooks.   • If textbooks are not returned and the student has not paid the replacement fees, a hold will be placed on the students records until all textbook fees are paid in full through the Century College Business Office.
  • Students with records on hold will NOT be allowed to register for class or pick-up textbooks for future courses until all textbook fees have been paid.

**If you believe you have received a damaged textbook from the bookstore it is your responsibility to report this to the bookstore as soon as possible.  If you wait until you are returning your materials at the end of the semester to report this damage you will be responsible for paying the replacement fee. 

 

 

HOW TO USE YOUR PSEO FUNDS

Before picking-up books in the Bookstore, please review and sign the PSEO Bookstore Agreement form found at the top of this page. This is required before you can pick-up your books.

 

  • In-Store
    • You must bring your Student ID card OR a valid photo ID(for example a valid driver's license)
      • You will be unable to use your PSEO funds without identification.
    • Bring your course schedule with you so the bookstore can help you get the correct textbooks and materials for your courses.  You can bring a printed schedule or pull up your schedule on your phone.  The bookstore will need the Course Department, Course number, and course section if you do not have access to your current schedule.***
    • You will need to have your student ID number(NOT your Star ID), to checkout at the bookstore. You will be unable to use your TDA without this number.
      • If you do not have your student ID card use your MNSCU tech ID number - you can find that on your printed course schedule or in eServices in the top right-hand corner of the screen after you have logged in.
  • Online
    •  You must first create a student account on the Century College Bookstore Website before you can order your textbooks online.  Guest accounts will not be able to use PSEO Funds or purchase textbooks.
    •  After your account has been created please navigate to the Textbook Search Menu - Textbooks>Search Textbooks
    •  Add in your courses into the search criteria Department(ACCT, COMM, ENGL, MATH, etc) and Course-Section-Instructor(1020 01, James; etc) then click "View Your Materials"
    •  Add your textbooks and materials to your cart
      • Please note, Optional and recommended textbooks are not able to be purchased with PSEO funds and will be automatically removed from orders.
    •  Choose your options from the pop-up menus
    •  At the payment option page click on the Payment method Drop Down and choose the Student Financial Aid option.
    •  You will need to use your student ID number on your student ID card(NOT your star ID) as your account number when Checking out. If you do not have a student ID card use your MNSCU tech ID number - you can find that on your printed course schedule or in eServices in the top right-hand corner of the screen once you are logged in.
    •  A backup payment method is require when purchasing with online with PSEO funds.  This is required for any items not covered by financial aid - Shipping Fees, Clothing, Gifts, etc.

***If you drop, switch, or are in a cancelled class you are responsible for returning all materials to the bookstore as soon as possible.

 

WHAT CAN BE PURCHASED WITH PSEO FUNDS

  • Required textbooks
  • Most Required kits.
 

WHAT CANNOT BE PURCHASED WITH PSEO FUNDS

  • Optional or Recommended textbooks.
  • Some class kits are unavailable for PSEO students.
  • Supplies.
  • Food and snack items.
  • Gift items.
  • Apparel or Spirit wear.
 

RETURNING YOUR PSEO MATERIALS

Open Access codes and supply kits do not need to be returned to the bookstore - these items cannot be reused or resold and are yours to keep.

 

 

BOOKSTORE FEES

The Bookstore will occasionally charge PSEO students fees. These fees are assessed at the bookstore by bookstore staff. Any unpaid fees in the bookstore will be transferred to the student's account via the business office at the end of each semester.

Please note: Once the bookstore fees are transmitted to the Business office, payment will be required or additional fees will be assessed and student balances may be transferred to the state debt collection system if they remain unpaid.

 

  • Late Returns without an accepted late return request, returned less than 1 week after the due date, will be subject to a $15.00 restocking fee.
  • Damaged textbooks will not be accepted and the student will be required to pay the full replacement fee of the textbook(s).
  • Non-Returned textbooks will be charged the full replacement cost of the textbook(s).
